video review : Module Eleven

1. The two videos I chose were “The impacts of Cubism” and “Expressionism” because they seemed to appeal to me. Expressionism has always interested me and I wanted to learn more about it. 2. What I learned in the “Impacts of Cubism” was that they use a lot of abstract shapes. They focus on incorporating spiritual elements and imagination. These artworks often have a lot of balance within them; most common form is a collage. In the movie “Expressionism,” colors are used symbolically. Use different colors to symbolize certain emotions or event. In the movie, Marc liked to use exotic colors to portray different emotions. 3. The videos relate to the reading in the text because they both discuss the movements of cubism and expressionism and provided examples of specific art and the elements used that emerged from these movements. 4. I liked the movies; they furthered my knowledge of these two very important movements.
