Module ten Video Responses
1.The two videos I chose were African Art and "African Art: Legacy of Oppression" I think that African art is somewhat overlooked, it hasn't really been looked at to its full extent and that there must be so much to learn about and from it.
2. In the African Art video, I learned that people expressed themselves with anything they can grasp, such as clothing, singing, even hairstyles. They would create art out of wood, and drawings that were displayed on rocks.
In African Art: Legacy of Oppression, I learned that African art can either be abstract or realistic. Most of this artwork praised their mothers. Masks were a form of art that were made for many different occasions.
3. The films relate to the text in that they address upon African art and go into depth about different styles, or techniques. African art is always meaningful and can be spiritual at times. The text and the videos went into depth about this art that personally, I think hasn't obtained the full attention it needs.
4. I liked these films, I thought they were very interesting. These films were easier to watch than others because it was extremely educational and broadened my understanding on African Art.
