Art Curator Video Blog!

1. In “The Lowdown on Lowbrow” I learned that west coast pop art is sometimes referred to as “lowbrow.” This is a movement that is energetic and edgy. This dynamic West Coast movement is changing the way we appreciate art and making it accessible and enjoyable to everyone. This often involves art that people do not know how to categorize. In “Displaying Modern Art,” I learned about Henry Tate and the new way to display art. This can be done by the specific exhibit, artist, or by theme. In “An Acquiring Mind,” I learned about Philippe de Montebello and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Cultural institution. 2. All three of these videos relate to the art curator exhibition project because they discuss different themes of art. They describe how art is displayed in the gallery and how in creating the gallery, the design of it must be planned ahead of time to showcase the artwork. 3. I liked the films. They helped me grasp a better understanding of this art curator exhibition project.
