MODULE SEVEN VIDEO POSTINGS!
1. In “Architecture: The Science of Design” I learned that an architects design is actually more strategic. They have to take in count the climate and environment of where they will be building. “High rises” must sustain height and wind. The higher the building, the higher the wind gusts, therefore there is an increased risk of building taller buildings and their designs are key to sustaining this.
In “Last Call for Planet Earth: Sustainable Development and Architecture” talked about the concept of “green architecture.” This is using recyclables and renewables resources to create a new product.
2. Both of the videos relate to the text in that they discuss the different materials needed for different structures and the circumstances in which they are built in. the readings in the text were about the concepts of architecture and design.
3. These videos helped with my understanding of architecture. Personally, I am all for saving the environment so the whole “green architecture” idea was very appealing to me.
4. I chose these two videos because they both contained the science of architecture. I like to explore the science of things and how it effects the environment. I think it is really good that architects are looking at renewable resources to making their designs.
